The talented story of Mr.Ripley
Hey... I know its been a while that I wrote anything! To sum up, loads of work, short beautiful vacation followed by loads of work! That has been keeping me busy!
Anyways, I returned from work (of course after working hard) and I accidently came across this super thriller/mystery movie called.. "The Talented Mr.Ripley". WOW is the only word for the movie. When it comes to a movie, I always prefer strong story lines, deep characterization, super direction and Super acting, of course in the same order. When it came to this movie, it scored a 10/10. I think the story is not only intriguing, but also very very well thought. Throughout the movie, you hope, you wish that our talented Mr.Ripley is not caught in his act!
After "Catch me if you can", if there is any other good movie on impostering, forgery.. I think you guessed it already. Combine his strong story line with superb acting by Matt Damon and you have a super intersting thriller.
The storyline is simple.Take a poor boy, throw some meat to him.. i.e. a mission. He gets the sniff, wants more, digs more, uses forgery, impostering, shrewed mind and flaws in laws to make an interesting journey from rags to riches, and from sadness to greed, rage, fear and more fear.
If the storyline was simple, the detailing and the acting made it a classic.
Overall, a surely nice movie to catch over the weekend!
answer the missed calls dear!
कहाँ है तू?
Pappu can dance... Also can act: Jaane tu ya Jaane Na
Today I saw this movie called, "Jaane tu Ya Jaane Na" . To begin with, I think the director (Abbas Tyrewaala -1st movie) wanted this movie to make an extremely simple love story. And that seems to be the flaw of the movie! Too Simple! Not too well defined characters. I think he expects the viewer to assume and complete the characterization on their own! Don't think the movie is a total waste of time! The movie was made with sincere intentions by its team and there are some really good moments too. Some of the jokes were really rib tickling and humourous. To certain extent, he could successfully create a goody goody modern day age single mom and other parents well. The other characters like the friends were not really explored! And Aditi's brother was big question mark! What was he doing? He suddenly appears in the movie and disappears... Leaves a lot of question marks! and Aditi's finace was also not well sketched! Seemed waste.. A very expected storyline.. so don't expect much. Genelia was refreshingly different! For a change I liked her! Gosh she was a torture in "Bommarillu". The only well sketched characters were that of Jai and Meghana. Meghana lives in a fantasy world and knows that she is not ready to face the reality. Jai was well defined... Soft, sober, lovable, self involved, cute and Non Violent! I could instantly relate to him! Wow.. Kudos to the Director for braving to create and explore this in a lead character! Good Job...
Irfan Khan, My pappu can definitely act and Dance! His talents need to be explored! Only irritating fact about him is he is too chocolaty, looks like he is still wet behind his ears! Couldn't look at him for long! Yuck!!!! Reminded me of milk... No idea why?? :)
Genelia was good, natural and beautiful! Must act more in hindi movies...
Over all, a fair movie, don't expect much... much like the pop corns!
Its My birthday today! Do I care if you remember?
I had the biggest realization today! But let me tell you my state before the realization... The one fact that always bugged me was people forget my Birthday! Trust me.. it sounds petty, but it caused a lot of heartache to me that people don't remember my birthday, wish me and celebrate it! How I wished every year that people remember my birthday, plan out a surprise and wish me.. but never.. At work.. people are so busy with work that they hardly remember taking breaks, forget about my birthday...
So this resulted me having sad moments, feeling low, having a low self esteem and wondering if people really care for me.
But today, in the office lift, I had this fabulous realization. How does it matter to anybody if it is my birthday today. How does it change their life? If something's changing, its my age. And why should they bother about it? Huh!
Trust me, this gave me a lot of peace. But my talkative mind immediately popped another question. Should people not remember your birthday, to show that they care for you! Yeah.. right.. these people are "my family", including my Friends. They are the ones who will stand by me during the tough times.
It should matter to me if they don't remember my birthday. Not my colleagues. For them, I am only a colleague, an acquaintance. I should rejoice if they are able to remember my b'day, but should not bother if they don't. End of the day, its purely business!
I think this is called as growing up! Hmmm! Interesting....
